  • Maltese:

Full scissoring trim for maltese

Maltese is the oldest breed of lap dog in history and also a very popular dog breed in our little island Singapore. Originally bred in the small island of Malta. They are small, cute, fluffy and cuddly. Literally a cloud floating in the sky! The maltese is also famous dog of choice for many prominent celebrities in the US. Maltese comes in only one color, White, dark round eyes and a black button nose.

They are great pets to carry with, are affectionate, friendly, docile, gentle and usually have very mild characters. Therefore can be a good companion for older owners and are easy to care for as they are not very highly energetic doggos.

Like poodles, the coat is hair, not fur. Therefore malteses shed little to no fur and is better for people or anyone in the household with allergies. Although maltese do not shed fur, grooming wise is very important as well because their hair can be easily tangled. Dog groomers recommend sending maltese for regular BASIC GROOMING at least once a month and FULL GROOMING at least once every 2 months to maintain the hair and other hygiene areas as well.

  • Pomeranian:

pom bear cut (Creative Styling)

Often called the Pom, their tremendous increasingly popularity in Singapore in the last couple of years has made them into the TOP 5 breeds. Pomeranians are one of the cutest dogs out there. Weighing between 1-3kg, these little walking fur balls are too adorable to resist. Pomeranians comes in 6 six colours namely, white, grey-shaded, brown, black, tan and orange. Pomeranians are definitely a HDB Approved dog breed in singapore and they are incredible lap dogs with cute little face and a big huge puff ball of fur!  Like Maltese and Poodle, Pomeranians are very docile and friendly lap dogs which is very suitable for owners of all ages.

One of the most distinctive characteristics of the Pom is their abundant double coated fur which sheds. Frequent grooming and brushing is required to prevent the undercoat from getting tangled and getting stuck inside their outer coat. Dematting can be very painful if the fur is tangled.

Doggylicious pet groomers strongly advise Pomeranian owners to send their furkids for regular pet grooming services, 2-3 weeks per Basic Grooming and 2-3 months per Full Grooming. Many owners tend to delay their dog grooming sessions as the fur of pomeranians will not look very messy even after 3-6 months of grooming. The reason is because most of the undercoat are trapped beneath the outer coat and are most probably stuck and not visible to the eye.

Grooming wise, goldens are easy to maintain. However they do shed fur so regular visits to dog groomers are recommended. Hence, they are rather easy to maintain so just regular brushing and deshedding of fur will do the job. GRs are also avid water lovers which means showering will be easy.
